TEP-190Abstract
This work presents the basics of GAUDI program (http://www.ugr.es/~tep190/investigacion/gaudi.html). It also contains the necessary indications to use this program properly. GAUDI is a program written in Matlab© which allows the designer to get the equilibrium shape of tensile structures or domes subjected to their self-weight. The program, employing Force Density Method (FDM) together with Topological Mapping (TM), simulates the hanging models employed by Gaudí or the models devised by Isler for form-finding. As Gaudí or Isler modified the models characteristics (cables length, weight, membrane dimensions, etc), the input to MT-MDF also can be modified in order to get different equilibrium shapes for the structure to be designed.
