Retos y dificultades para una educación ambiental informal

Abstract

En este trabajo pretendemos llamar la atención sobre las características de la información ambiental que transmiten los medios de comunicación, en general, y la prensa y la televisión en particular. Tras un análisis crítico de esta información y de las dificultades a las que se enfrenta, se plantea cómo debería ser. Posteriormente se ofrecen algunas pautas de trabajo en el aula para aprovechar sus potencialidades, tanto para la información televisiva como para la que ofrece la prensa, pautas que pasan por una selección, categorización y análisis de su contenido. Finalizamos haciendo unas breves consideraciones respecto de las posibilidades didácticas de su uso sistemático en el ámbito educativo.

In this article we aim to call attention to the features of environmental information reflected in the mass media in general and the press and television in particular. After carrying out a critical analysis of this coverage and the difficulties faced, we look at how things should be done. We then give some working guidelines for classroom work to make the most of its potential, for both television and press information, including how to sleeve, categorise and analyse content. Finally we make some observations on the teaching potential of their systematic use in the educational sphere.
