Reflexiones en torno al 'nuevo enfoque práctico'. Un approach al new practice approach

Abstract

Este artículo explora la posibilidad de sintetizar los enfoques de Marx y Weber, tal como propugna Sherry Ortner, al referirse al nuevo «practice approach», examinando los sistemas analíticos de A. Giddens, P. Bourdieu y M. Sahlins. Comienzo con una muy breve exposición de lo que considero que son las bases del pensamiento posmoderno. A continuación y al desgranar cada uno de estos «enfoques prácticos», observo que la principal divergencia entre estos autores radica en el grado de conocimiento que confieren a los actores sociales en lo que a las consecuencias de sus acciones se refiere. Finalizo con una reflexión personal y brevísima sobre el círculo paradójico que se está generando en el seno de la antropología actual.

This article explores the possibility of synthesizing the approaches of Marx and Weber, as Sherry Ortner advocates when referring to the new «practice approach», examining the analytic systems of A. Giddens, P. Bourdieu and M. Sahlins. It begins with a very brief exhibition of the bases of postmodern thought. Next, it demonstrates, through the examination of each one of these «practice approaches», that the main divergence among these authors resides in the degree of knowledge conferred upon social players with regard to the consequences of their actions. It concludes with a brief personal reflection on the paradoxical circle that is emerging in current anthropology.
