BAG International Arts Festival at UGR - 4th / 5th / 6th

Abstract

La presente publicación reúne los resultados obtenidos en las ediciones 4ª (2020-21), 5ª (2021-22) y 6ª (2022-23) del Festival Internacional de Arte BAG, una iniciativa de la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad de Granada en colaboración con el Vicerrectorado de Internacionalización. El objetivo primordial del festival ha sido fomentar el intercambio artístico entre instituciones de educación superior, entendiendo la internacionalización y el diálogo intercultural como medios fundamentales para la investigación, la docencia y la extensión del aprendizaje interuniversitario. A través de sus programaciones, se han tendido puentes entre facultades, universidades y países, posicionando el arte como un vehículo de intercambio, comprensión mutua y crecimiento colectivo en una amplia red de relaciones con socios internacionales. Este volumen documenta un trienio crucial en el que la producción artística y la cooperación académica se vieron profundamente condicionadas por la crisis sanitaria global de la COVID-19. Dicho contexto operó como un catalizador que obligó a redefinir las dinámicas de colaboración y a explorar las posibilidades de los entornos digitales para la interacción y la creación artística, reformulando los procesos de cooperación institucional. De esta forma, el festival se asienta como un punto de encuentro donde convergen voces creativas diversas que invitan a la reflexión sobre temas de trascendencia internacional. El arte se manifiesta, así, como un agente clave que contribuye a generar conocimiento ofreciendo respuestas a problemáticas actuales.

This publication brings together the results obtained in the 4th (2020–21), 5th (2021–22), and 6th (2022–23) editions of the BAG International Art Festival, an initiative of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Granada in collaboration with the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalization. The primary objective of the festival has been to promote artistic exchange between higher education institutions, understanding internationalization and intercultural dialogue as fundamental means for research, teaching, and the extension of interuniversity learning. Through its programmes, bridges have been built between faculties, universities, and countries, positioning art as a vehicle for exchange, mutual understanding, and collective growth within a broad network of relationships with international partners. This volume documents a crucial three-year period in which artistic production and academic cooperation were deeply shaped by the global COVID-19 health crisis. This context acted as a catalyst, forcing a redefinition of collaborative dynamics and prompting the exploration of digital environments for interaction and artistic creation, thereby reshaping processes of institutional cooperation. In this way, the festival is established as a meeting point where diverse creative voices converge, inviting reflection on issues of international significance. Art thus emerges as a key agent contributing to the generation of knowledge by offering responses to contemporary challenges.
