Abstract

La publicación "CONVERGÊNCIAS" recoge la exposición internacional de arte contemporáneo homónima celebrada entre septiembre y noviembre de 2024 en el Centro Cultural Convento de São José, en Lagoa (Algarve, Portugal). Organizada por la Asociación Cultural Cuneo-Sularte, presidida por Arlindo Arez, y con la dirección académica de Luo Qi (Academia de Arte de China) y Antonio Canau (Universidad de Lisboa), la muestra reunió a 16 artistas de 12 países en torno al concepto de convergencia cultural. El libro subraya la vocación del proyecto como espacio de diálogo sin fronteras, en un momento histórico donde los conflictos limitan la libre circulación de personas e ideas. La exposición se presenta como un "grito" por la libertad creativa y el intercambio artístico internacional, proponiendo la armonía entre los pueblos a través de la fuerza pictórica. En la exposición internacional, participan artistas de Europa, Asia, América y Oriente Medio como Agnes Haasz (Hungría), Arjan Janssen (Países Bajos), Avni Sami (Kosovo), Bransha Gautier (Austria), Buyankhishig Unurbayar (Mongolia), Giovanni Cerri (Italia), Igor Benca (Eslovaquia), Izumi Ueda Yuu (Japón), Jiachen Ling (China), Krist Dimo (Albania), Margarida Lourenço (Portugal), Martin Ševčovič (Eslovaquia), Rafael Romero (España), Silvia Alcalá (España), Solongo Tseekhuu (Mongolia) y Zazaa Ganbold (Mongolia), junto a los organizadores y comisarios. Junto a esta selección, el proyecto "Cuneo-Sularte" presenta una sección curatorial a cargo de Arlindo Arez (Portugal) con obras de los artistas: Adil Yusif (Azerbaiyán), Aseel Azizieh (Jordania), Fernando Barrionuevo (España), María Dolores Gallego (España), Toña Gómez (España), Paulo Quaresma (Portugal), Maria Balea (Rumanía) y Sebastião Cavaco (Portugal), quienes abordan temas como el Antropoceno, la mujer, la tierra y la libertad desde lenguajes abstractos contemporáneos. Destaca también la participación especial de la joven artista Tian Luo con obras inspiradas en las grutas de Dunhuang, fusionando tradición y contemporaneidad. En conjunto, la publicación reivindica el arte como herramienta de conexión intercultural y reflexión sobre los desafíos globales.

The publication “CONVERGÊNCIAS” covers the international contemporary art exhibition of the same name held between September and November 2024 at the Convento de São José Cultural Center in Lagoa (Algarve, Portugal). Organized by the Cuneo-Sularte Cultural Association, chaired by Arlindo Arez, and under the academic direction of Luo Qi (China Academy of Art) and Antonio Canau (University of Lisbon), the exhibition brought together 16 artists from 12 countries around the concept of cultural convergence. The book highlights the project's vocation as a space for dialogue without borders, at a historic moment when conflicts limit the free movement of people and ideas. The exhibition is presented as a “cry” for creative freedom and international artistic exchange, proposing harmony between peoples through the power of art. Artists from Europe, Asia, America, and the Middle East are participating in the international exhibition, including Agnes Haasz (Hungary), Arjan Janssen (Netherlands), Avni Sami (Kosovo), Bransha Gautier (Austria), Buyankhishig Unurbayar (Mongolia), Giovanni Cerri (Italy), Igor Benca (Slovakia), Izumi Ueda Yuu (Japan), Jiachen Ling (China), Krist Dimo (Albania), Margarida Lourenço (Portugal), Martin Ševčovič (Slovakia), Rafael Romero (Spain), Silvia Alcalá (Spain), Solongo Tseekhuu (Mongolia), and Zazaa Ganbold (Mongolia), along with the organizers and curators. Alongside this selection, the “Cuneo-Sularte” project presents a curatorial section by Arlindo Arez (Portugal) with works by the artists: Adil Yusif (Azerbaijan), Aseel Azizieh (Jordan), Fernando Barrionuevo (Spain), María Dolores Gallego (Spain), Toña Gómez (Spain), Paulo Quaresma (Portugal), Maria Balea (Romania), and Sebastião Cavaco (Portugal), who address themes such as the Anthropocene, women, the earth, and freedom through contemporary abstract languages. Also noteworthy is the special participation of young artist Tian Luo with works inspired by the Dunhuang caves, fusing tradition and contemporaneity. Overall, the publication champions art as a tool for intercultural connection and reflection on global challenges.
