Resumen
The Spanish Civil War has been the most important, decisive and traumatic event in contemporary Spain, but also one of the most iconic events in the recent history of the Western world. However, musicology has not devoted a great deal of attention to the war of 1936–1939 until very recently. In this chapter, we seek to analyze the traces of the Civil War in the Spanish popular urban music scenes through the work of artists such as Niño de Elche, Barricada or Enrique Morente.
