Tendencias y desafíos acerca del desarrollo del pensamiento numérico y algebraico: un diálogo entre SEIEM y SOMIDEN

Abstract

The chapter describes an analysis of the scientific production on the teaching and learning of arithmetic and algebra developed by two research groups: the ‘Thinking Numerical and Algebraic Thinking’ (PNA) group of the Spanish Society for Research in Mathematical Education (SEIEM) and the Working Group on the Didactics of Arithmetic and Algebra (GTT4) of the Society for Research and Dissemination of Mathematical Education (SOMIDEM). The contributions of the PNA group presented at the last five symposia of the SEIEM are reviewed, as well as the production related to the GGT4 theme published in the last five years in the journal Educación Matemática and in the proceedings of the first congress of this society. In both contexts, the review has led to the identification of current trends and the theoretical and methodological frameworks used. Challenges of research and educational practice are recognized to continue and promote future collaborations between members of both societies.

En el capítulo se describe un análisis de la producción científica sobre la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de la aritmética y el álgebra desarrollada por dos grupos de investigación: el grupo Pensamiento Numérico y Algebraico (PNA) de la Sociedad Española de Investigación en Educación Matemática (SEIEM) y el Grupo de Trabajo de Didáctica de la Aritmética y del Álgebra (GTT4) de la Sociedad Mexicana de Investigación y Divulgación de la Educación Matemática (SOMIDEM). Se revisan las contribuciones del grupo PNA presentadas en los últimos cinco simposios de la SEIEM, así como la producción relacionada con la temática del GTT4 publicada en los últimos cinco años en la revista Educación Matemática y en las actas del primer congreso de dicha sociedad. En ambos contextos, la revisión ha llevado a identificar tendencias actuales y marcos teóricos y metodológicos empleados. Se reconocen desafíos de investigación y de práctica educativa para continuar y promover colaboraciones entre miembros de ambas sociedades.
