Abstract

La novela El mar, el debut de Blai Bonet, fue adaptada con éxito al cine por Agustí Villaronga, quien profundizó especialmente en la dimensión homosexual del texto, otorgándole un protagonismo que en la obra original era sugerido o suprimido en ocasiones. Esta sexualidad se presenta de forma anómala, marcada por una violencia derivada de la Guerra Civil y la religión. El artículo analiza, desde una perspectiva narratológica, cómo se representa el cuerpo masculino rompiendo con la tradición patriarcal. Asimismo, se examina si esta adaptación puede considerarse una reescritura, según el término empleado por José Antonio Pérez Bowie.

El mar, the debut novel by Blai Bonet, was successfully adapted for the screen by Agustí Villaronga, who significantly expanded upon the text’s homoerotic dimension, granting it a centrality that in the original was often merely implied or suppressed. In the film, this sexuality is portrayed in a transgressive manner, shaped by the violence of the Spanish Civil War and the influence of religious doctrine.
