Un pasaje insuficientemente identificado en el tratado retórico-filosófico de Vives Titulado De ratione dicendi

Abstract

En el capítulo titulado De Historia del libro III del tratado retórico-filosófico De ratione dicendi, escrito por J. L. Vives, se inserta una extensa cita tomada de las Historiarum Romanarum Decades, editada por Giovanni Andrea Bussi, obispo de Aleria, que la crítica especializada aún no ha sabido identificar satisfactoriamente. Mediante estas páginas, intentamos demostrar que la cita procede de la Epistola ad Summum Pontificem Paulum II Venetum, que precede al libro I de la obra historiográfica de Tito Livio, editada en Roma por Giovanni Andrea Bussi, en torno a 1469.

In the chapter entitled De Historia from the third book of philosophic-rhetorical treatise De ratione dicendi written by J. L. Vives it is clearly noticeable a long quotation from Historiarum Romanarum Decades edited by Giovanni Andrea Bussi, Bishop of Aleria. Modern scholars have not been able yet to identify it properly. Throughout these pages, we try to stay that this quotation is literally taken from the Epistola ad Summum Pontificem Paulum II Venetum, which goes before Titus Livius' historical work, edited at Rome by Giovanni Andrea Bussi, around 1469.
