Resumen
This paper describes the way in which immigrant school pupils receive specialised care in our country, more specifically in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia. For this purpose, the current law, Organic Law which modifies Organic Law on Education (LOMLOE), includes in its articles 78 and 79 that public administrations must take care of favouring the incorporation of pupils who come from other countries or who, for whatever reason, join the system late (art.78).
In the Autonomous Community of Andalusia this work is mainly developed through two specific programmes known by their acronyms: PALI (Linguistic Accompaniment Programme for Immigrant Students, Programa de Acompañamiento Lingüístico para el Alumnado Inmigrante) and ATAL (Temporary Classrooms for Linguistic Adaptation, Aulas Temporales de Adaptación Lingüística) and, in a complementar, through the Virtual Spanish Classroom of the Instituto Cervantes in a virtual way. We have summarised the most significant actions that these programmes deal with, as well as the way they are organised and how they work to provide an in-depth knowledge of them.
