Geografía y Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible en Educación Primaria: análisis de contenido del currículo en Andalucía, España

Abstract

El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar el grado de integración de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) en la etapa de Educación Primaria en Andalucía en la materia de “Conocimiento del Medio Natural, Social y Cultural”. Se empleó un método cualitativo a través de la técnica de análisis de contenido. Se analizó la normativa autonómica vigente en la comunidad andaluza, la cual fue organizada y codificada utilizando el software de análisis cualitativo MAXQDA. Los resultados revelan una integración favorable de los ODS para la etapa de Educación Primaria, identificando tanto fortalezas como debilidades que pueden mejorar la inclusión de los ODS en el currículo. Los datos sugieren oportunidades para mejorar la integración de los ODS en la Educación Primaria aprovechando el potencial de la ciencia geográfica para contribuir a la formación de una ciudadanía global sostenible.

The aim of this study was to assess the degree of integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the Primary Education stage in Andalusia in the subject of ‘Knowledge of the Natural, Social and Cultural Environment’. A qualitative method was used through the content analysis technique. We analysed the autonomous regulations in force in Andalusia, which were organised and coded using the MAXQDA qualitative analysis software. The results reveal a favourable integration of the SDGs for the Primary Education stage, identifying both strengths and weaknesses that can improve the inclusion of the SDGs in the curriculum. The data suggest opportunities to improve the integration of the SDGs in Primary Education by harnessing the potential of geographical science to contribute to the formation of sustainable global citizenship.
