Sembramos, Comemos, Vivimos. Saberes Agroecológicos desde los Sures.

Abstract

Ante la crisis climática y energética que estamos viviendo, debemos encontrar respuestas y soluciones frente a algunos de los más urgentes retos que tenemos y debemos afrontar: como alimentarnos. Este volumen presenta respuestas adaptativas desde los sistemas agroalimentarios al reto de como alimentar al conjunto de la humanidad de forma sustentable y respetuosa con la tierra. Sembramos, Comemos y Vivimos. Saberes Agroecológicos desde los Sures presenta las voces de algunos de los más reconocidos investigadores a nivel mundial sobre la pertinencia de los saberes agroecológicos como solución al reto de como producir de forma sana, saludable y perdurable en el tiempo y espacio, bienes agroalimentarios. Resultado de un largo proceso de investigación a lo largo de años, se abordan la continuidad de sistemas agroalimentarios, pesqueros y forestales como herramienta de resiliencia socioambiental frente a la escasez, frente a la voracidad del modelo capitalista extractivo, con especial atención a la realidad agroalimentaria en España y México. Repensar nuestra relación con el medio ambiente, hacia una cotidianidad en la que el consumo masivo de bienes alimentarios, supone comprender como el consumo de energía y materia es insostenible en un mundo limitado, en la nave tierra que nos alberga y acoge. Queda como urgencia civilizatoria repensar como sembramos, comemos y vivimos para alimentarnos, estando en juego nuestro futuro como especie, como una más de las especies que habitan sobre la faz de la Tierra. In the face of the climate and energy crisis we are currently experiencing, we must find answers and solutions to some of the most urgent challenges we have and must face: how to feed ourselves. This volume presents adaptive responses from agri-food systems to the challenge of how to feed the whole of humanity in a sustainable and earth-friendly way. We Sow, We Eat, We Live. Saberes Agroecológicos desde los Sures presents the voices of some of the world's most renowned researchers on the relevance of agroecological knowledge as a solution to the challenge of how to produce agrifood goods in a healthy, wholesome and sustainable way in time and space. The result of a long process of research over many years, it addresses the continuity of agri-food, fishing and forestry systems as a tool for socio-environmental resilience in the face of scarcity, in the face of the voracity of the extractive capitalist model, with special attention to the agri-food reality in Spain and Mexico. Rethinking our relationship with the environment, towards an everyday life in which the massive consumption of food goods means understanding how the consumption of energy and matter is unsustainable in a limited world, in the earth ship that houses and shelters us. It remains a civilising urgency to rethink how we sow, eat and live in order to feed ourselves, since our future as a species is at stake, as one more of the species that inhabit the world.We aim to respond to this with this book.
