Sures Socioambientales. Narrativas Epistemológicas

Abstract

Con este texto se ofrece una reflexión comprometidasobre los procesos de interacción y cambio quelas sociedades del Sur Global tienen con sus territorios,saberes, lugares. Este es el espacio epistemológicocomún desde el que pensamos los que vivimosen la Historia Ambiental como lugar de pronunciaciónde nuestros compromisos y haceres. El volumenque se presenta a consideración se planteacomo un texto desde el cual (re)pensar los procesosde construcción de las epistemologías socioambientales.Por un lado, la vertiente de construcciónde un paradigma epistemológico nortocéntrico hagenerado una narrativa en la que se relata de formaacrítica y sin pulso societario los procesos dedespojo material y territorial en los Sures.Este relato del proceso de colonización de losterritorios y cuerpos del Sur se describe comouna imagen plana, sin tensiones ni sujetos, en losque la conversión de los ecosistemas es parte deuna trama del proceso imperial de apropiación/ asignación asimétrica de recursos y bienes. Así, fijamosen el texto tres momentos de atención: cómose ha narrado el rediseño colonizador eurocéntricode los territorios en ciclo largo; cómo proponemosfracturar esa narrativa, esa lógica epistémica narradadesde la hegemonía; cómo activar un enlaceque permita una ecología de saberes con otroscampos epistémicos.

This text offers a committed reflection on the processes of interaction and change that the societies of the Global South have with their territories, knowledge and places. This is the common epistemological space from which those of us who live in Environmental History think of it as a place for pronouncing our commitments and actions. The volume under consideration is presented as a text from which to (re)think the processes of construction of socio-environmental epistemologies. On the one hand, the construction of a nortocentric epistemological paradigm has generated a narrative in which the processes of material and territorial dispossession in the South are recounted critically and without a societal pulse. This account of the process of colonisation of the territories and bodies of the South is described as a flat, tension-free and subjectless picture, in which the conversion of ecosystems is part of a plot of the imperial process of asymmetrical appropriation/allocation of resources and goods. Thus, we fix in the text three moments of attention: how the Eurocentric colonising redesign of territories has been narrated in a long cycle; how we propose to fracture that narrative, that epistemic logic narrated from hegemony; how to activate a link that allows for an ecology of knowledge with other epistemic fields.
