Abstract

El humor es una potente arma de comunicación y un eficaz mecanismo para comprender, interpretar y criticar la realidad. Las imágenes y los dibujos también tienen un gran poder de comunicación y nos hacen pensar. Ambos, el humor gráfico, son una manifestación del contexto histórico, social y cultural. La arquitectura que forma parte de ese contexto ha utilizado el humor gráfico en una doble dirección; como fuente, víctima de las caricaturas en la prensa, o como herramienta de combate para trasmitir ciertos mensajes con contenido humorístico. Los medios de difusión de estos mensajes han ido transformándose y las redes sociales han aumentado exponencialmente la cantidad y la rapidez en el acceso a la información. El meme es el humor gráfico actual, y del mismo modo que lo hacia la caricatura, sintetiza una idea critica a través de un dibujo y unas pocas palabras usando el humor. Analizaremos las repercusiones del uso del meme en la arquitectura.

Humor is a powerful communication weapon and an effective mechanism for understanding, interpreting and criticizing reality. Images and drawings also have a great power of communication and make us think. Both, the graphic humor, are a manifestation of the historical, social and cultural context. The architecture that is part of that context has used graphic humor in a double direction; as a source, victim of caricatures in the press, or as a combat tool to transmit certain messages with humorous content. The means of diffusion of these messages have been transforming and social networks have exponentially increased the quantity and speed of access to information. The meme is the current graphic humor, and in the same way as the cartoon did, it synthesizes a critical idea through a drawing and a few words using humor. We will analyze the repercussions of the use of the meme in architecture.
