Sigüenza en tiempos de ¿reconquista?: la formación de un territorio feudal (siglos XII-XIII)

Abstract

Con motivo de la celebración de los novecientos años de la incorporación del territorio de Sigüenza al reino de Castilla (1124-2024), se realiza un repaso sobre el estado actual del conocimiento tanto de la villa como de su alfoz, incluyendo aldeas y fortificaciones. A partir de datos arqueológicos y otros provenientes de la documentación escrita publicada, se señalan las claves fundamentales para comprender la transformación que se opera en el paisaje a partir del siglo XII y que nos permite calificarlo como un señorío típicamente feudal.

On the occasion of the celebration of the nine hundred years since the incorporation of the territory of Sigüenza into the kingdom of Castile (1124-2024), a review is made of the current state of knowledge of both the town and its surrounding area, including villages and fortifications. Based on archaeological data and information from published written documents, the fundamental keys are highlighted to understand the transformation that occurs in the landscape from the twelfth century onwards, allowing us to characterize it as a typically feudal lordship.
