El lugar como entidad y/o ficción a través de los procesos de hibridación de la producción pictórica contemporánea

Abstract

Imagen y lugar mantienen un vínculo profundo que se materializa en la práctica artística contemporánea. Comprender la imagen como un espacio donde ocurren diversos procesos creativos y, a la vez, como un dispositivo en el que el concepto de lugar se (re)hace, (re)construye o (re)crea, define la producción artística actual y evidencia su carácter como territorio de experimentación. En este contexto, la hibridez de la imagen pictórica contemporánea, en la que convergen diversas herramientas, técnicas y soportes, permite abordarla no solo como una representación del lugar, sino como un lugar en sí mismo en el que se revelan diferentes clases de cartografías visuales. Este trabajo se enfoca en abordar la imagen como elemento transformador y resignificante del concepto de lugar, generando nuevas narrativas espaciales y simbólicas que configuran una poética visual particular, concretada en el proyecto artístico Un lugar fuera del tiempo.

Image and place maintain a deep connection that materializes in contemporary artistic practice. Understanding the image as a space where various creative processes occur and, at the same time, as a device in which the concept of place is (re)made, (re)constructed, or (re)created defines current artistic production and highlights its nature as a territory of experimentation. In this context, the hybridity of contemporary pictorial imagery, where various tools, techniques, and mediums converge, allows it to be approached not only as a representation of place but as a place in itself, where different types of visual cartographies are revealed. This work focuses on addressing the image as a transformative and resignifying element of the concept of place, generating new spatial and symbolic narratives that shape a particular visual poetics, which is materialized through the project A Place Outside of Time.
