The main objective of this Final Degree Project is to analyse the translation strategies applied in the book Cuentos populares del Rif contados por mujeres cuentacuentos, from Rifian into Spanish. The aim is to make visible the role of women as transmitters of the oral tradition in the Rif, as well as the linguistic and cultural particularities involved in the translation process. This work also stems from a personal motivation. As a Rifian woman trained in the field of translation, I have felt the need to approach my cultural heritage from an academic point of view, with the desire to contribute to its preservation and dissemination. The oral tradition of the Rif, in which women have historically been the main bearers of the collective story, is part of my identity and my roots. Through this dissertation, I wanted to pay tribute to these female voices, often made invisible, who have kept alive the cultural memory of the Rif community (Northern Morocco)
