Cartografías cinematográficas: los descampados del cine Quinqui

Abstract

El cine cartografía la mente de los personajes y también los espacios que habitan, registrando su dimensión menos elocuente. Esos espacios, pasados por el filtro perceptivo, personal e intransferible de los realizadores y devuelto a la pantalla, dan como resultado un paisaje que, como ocurre en la pintura, la literatura o la música, es capaz de trascender la sala oscura para formar parte del imaginario colectivo de una sociedad. El Neorrealismo italiano logró dar forma a uno de los paisajes más originales, elocuentes y fascinantes de la historia del arte: el descampado. Décadas después, el cine Quinqui recogería aquel testigo, incorporando la dimensión nómada a personajes y territorios, abriendo una senda que cambiaría definitivamente la percepción del paisaje. Espacio líquido sin objetos ni objetivos, donde solo cuentan los sucesos que depara el camino, el vértigo de la acción, la agitación perpetua, lo que se encuentra sin buscar.

The cinema maps the mind of the characters and the spaces they inhabit, registering their less eloquent dimension. These spaces, passed through the perceptive, personal and non- transferable filter of the filmmakers and returned to the screen, in form of a landscape that, as occurs in painting, literature or music, can transcend the dark room to become part of the collective imagination of a society. Italian Neorealism managed to shape one of the most original, eloquent and fascinating landscapes in the history of art: the wasteland. Decades later, Quinqui cinema would take over, incorporating the nomadic dimension to characters and territories, opening a path that would definitively change the perception of the landscape. Liquid space without objects or objectives, where only the events along the way count and the vertigo of action, the perpetual agitation is found without looking for it.
