Abstract

Este cuaderno docente, quinto de una serie de seis dedicados a la asignatura Ideación Gráfica e Introducción al Proyecto Arquitectónico (IGA), sigue desarrollando una estrategia metodológica que fusiona las áreas de Expresión Gráfica y Proyectos Arquitectónicos en un taller experimental común. En esta ocasión, el Observatorio de Cartuja, edificio singular tanto por su localización como por su función, centra la atención del análisis docente. Su estudio permite a los estudiantes reflexionar sobre la arquitectura científica y su relación con el paisaje, el cielo y el territorio. Se exploran conceptos como la orientación, la precisión constructiva, la percepción del tiempo y la interacción entre tecnología y forma arquitectónica. En este contexto, el dibujo se convierte en una herramienta fundamental para comprender la arquitectura como mediadora entre conocimiento y naturaleza. El cuaderno, en su habitual formato A3, actúa como soporte de trabajo activo, abierto a la experimentación y a la reflexión individual. Además de facilitar la comunicación entre profesor y alumno, refuerza el valor del patrimonio científico de la Universidad de Granada como recurso pedagógico. Este volumen consolida su papel como instrumento versátil, replicable y profundamente contextualizado en la enseñanza de la arquitectura.

This teaching notebook, the fifth in a series of six dedicated to the subject Graphic Ideation and Introduction to Architectural Design (IGA), continues the development of a methodological strategy that merges Graphic Expression and Architectural Design within a shared experimental studio. In this edition, the focus is on the Cartuja Observatory—a distinctive building notable for both its location and its scientific function. Its study invites students to reflect on scientific architecture and its relationship with the landscape, the sky, and the broader territory. Key concepts explored include orientation, constructive precision, the perception of time, and the interaction between technology and architectural form. Within this context, drawing becomes an essential tool for understanding architecture as a mediator between knowledge and nature. Maintaining the A3 format, the notebook serves as an active workspace—open to experimentation and personal reflection. In addition to facilitating communication between teacher and student, it reinforces the value of the University of Granada’s scientific heritage as an educational resource. This volume further solidifies its role as a versatile, replicable, and deeply contextualized instrument in architectural education.
