Atienza, testigo de frontera: dinámicas de un asentamiento andalusí, cristiano y judío

Abstract

Con este trabajo ofrecemos los primeros resultados de las excavaciones arqueológicas llevadas a cabo en el conjunto del castillo de Atienza y en el cerro de la judería. Se aportan unas reflexiones iniciales sobre esta importante villa fortificada, un asentamiento clave para entender las dinámicas entre las diferentes sociedades y comunidades religiosas que en él han vivido durante el transcurso de la Edad Media, siendo testigo de frontera tanto en la época islámica como en la cristiana.

This work offers the first results of the archaeological excavations carried out in the Atienza Castle and on the hill that occupies its Jewish quarter. Some initial reflections are provided on the significant fortified complex of this town, a key settlement to understand the dynamics between the different societies and religious communities that have lived there during the course of the Middle Ages, witnessing the frontier both in the Islamic era as in the Christian.
