Studies on Andalusian funerary areas have experienced in the last decade a high scientific interest that are providing new social and cultural data. This is due to the results of a several number of investigations that, in addition, have highlighted the importance of addressing such studies under an interdisciplinary approach. Consequently, it seems unacceptable from now on, to approach the funerary realm of al-Andalus without taking into consideration the different points of view offered by textual documentation, Archeology and Anthropology. Under this methodological perspective, beyond the issues traditionally dealt with by historiography, that is to say, those related to rituality; epigraphy; burial typology; funerary topography; or the relationship with the settlements, the maqbaras are seen as key spaces to analyze the processes of islamization, arabization and resitances of beliefs prior to the arabo-amazig conquest.es_ES
