<title>Poblamiento y frontera en el Obispado de Málaga a fines del siglo XV: introducción a su estudio</title>
<link>https://hdl.handle.net/10481/30103</link>
<description>Poblamiento y frontera en el Obispado de Málaga a fines del siglo XV: introducción a su estudio
López de Coca Castañer, José Enrique
The Bishopric of Malaga went through the Mussulman domain to the Castilian&#13;
one by means of the booting which follows any military conquest. This change was&#13;
not just for the owner of the land but also for those working on it —the Mudejars—&#13;
because, on the other hand, the land would lose a great part of its value. As the&#13;
fidelity of the conquered has been obtained by force, only will it be possible to&#13;
maintain it. The military guards will be necesary for it, that, very soon, they are going&#13;
to be a difficult charge for the Royal Finance of Castille. The only way of reducing the&#13;
military expenses is to offer the abandoned lands to some settler-soldiers capable of&#13;
subtituting those military guards. The repopulation is the result of a military necesity&#13;
and the immigrants will receive their portions in relation to their economic capacity&#13;
and social condition. This inequality, which existed when the distribution was made,&#13;
together with the desproportion that there was between the amount of lands for&#13;
distributing and the number of complainants ordered by the Crown, all this will have&#13;
as a consequence the creation of a new very discontented society with its quality, in&#13;
spite of the tax exemptions that, in some cases, the State will offer. This situation,&#13;
which deteriorated from its beginning, will get worse when the Crown offers mercies to&#13;
certain members of the nobility, which will be maximu principal beneficiary of the&#13;
conquest: directly by the properties received: indirectly because of its participation in&#13;
the legal benefits collected by the State in the land of Malaga. The settlers will not&#13;
fulfil their military obligations when the Mudejars rebel at the beginning of the XVI&#13;
century, and an antifeudal feeling begins to demonstrate itself during those years,&#13;
and will finish in the rebellions of 1516.

<description>Las publicaciones de los Departamentos de Historia Medieval
Gual Camarena, Miguel
This is just a report of the work done by Departaments of&#13;
Medieval History of different Spanish Universities. I wish to emphasize&#13;
especially here, the periodical publications and issues of&#13;
monographic subjects; fundamentally, Degrees of Licenciate and&#13;
Doctoral Thesis. In some cases I indicate the works which are&#13;
going to be published.

<title>La Banca en Granada hasta 1515: notas para su estudio</title>
<link>https://hdl.handle.net/10481/30101</link>
<description>La Banca en Granada hasta 1515: notas para su estudio
Garzón Pareja, Manuel
Dr. Felipe Ruiz Martin is the first person who has studied&#13;
seriously the history of the bank in Spain. In his work "El Banco&#13;
de Espafia", the author analyzes the bank of Granada beginning&#13;
with the permission given to the Centurione brothers in 1518.&#13;
These brothers were of those Genoeses who are everywhere. It is&#13;
not strange that these Genoeses were important people of the bang&#13;
of Granada if we remember that there was a house of their fellow&#13;
countrymen during the Nasri 'epoch in Granada.&#13;
The fact is not clear —we are talking about the importance of&#13;
the Genoeses in Christian times—, because we know that Catholic&#13;
Kings transformed that house into a prison for the city. Either they&#13;
lost importance or they were not successful in their business in&#13;
Granada. We have already pointed out how it was forbidden to&#13;
those Genoeses to live in Granada. The slippery Genoeses came&#13;
once again to live in the town after some years and they occupied&#13;
an important area in h; in spite of the opposition of those who&#13;
hated them for being competitors in the silk and wool trade.&#13;
I demonstrated in this article that three bankers —either&#13;
private or public moneychangers (this is not very important now),&#13;
and who precisely were not Genoese—, are registered from 1492&#13;
till 1515, three years before the Centurione, and of this date we&#13;
have even the documents of obligaton and guarantee which were&#13;
issued by Fernando Lépez and his boundsmen. This is published&#13;
in this article.&#13;
It is very interesting to know that the bankin g activity of&#13;
Granada was very important because of its industry of silk and&#13;
wool. There was, also a place called "los cambios" (exchanges) as&#13;
we said before, so that these bankers were not alone.

<title>Granada en el Archivo Secreto Vaticano: dos bulas papales del año 1492</title>
<link>https://hdl.handle.net/10481/30100</link>
<description>Granada en el Archivo Secreto Vaticano: dos bulas papales del año 1492
Martín González, Ángel
We publish here the dispositive parts of two bulls of 1492, which&#13;
were given by the Popes Innocent VIII and Alexander VI, and proceeding&#13;
from the Register of the Vatican Archives. These are indulgences to&#13;
those who visit the Spanish Church of Santiago in Rome, on the&#13;
occasion of the conquest of Granada; and to a concession of a&#13;
metropolitan character to the Episcopal See of Granada, with the&#13;
suffragan diocese of Guadix and Almeria.
