Biodiversity of Soil Mesofauna Associated with the Design of Home Gardens in Mapuche Agroecosystems—Case Study in the Araucanía Region
Peredo Parada, Santiago; Barrera Salas, Claudia; Burbi, Sara
Home gardens play a transcendental role in food sovereignty, for which the management of
habitats above ground and underground are complementary strategies. This study aims to compare
the biodiversity of soil mesofauna groups between agroecosystems with a conventional and an
agroecological design. Through the combination of quantitative (plant inventories) and qualitative
(mobile interviewing and talking maps) techniques, the units of this study was described. Soil
samples were mounted in a Berlesse–Tullgren system, and the abundance, richness, diversity, and
equality of soil organisms were determined. The relationships between functional groups were
compared taxonomically and biocenotically. The results indicated higher equality in the conventional
home garden, while the communities studied present a medium taxocenotic similarity, without great
biocenotic differences. The diversity and richness of taxa, as well as the abundance in each group
identified, were higher in the agroecological garden, which had more medicinal and aromatic plants.

Responding to the Popular Demand: Itinerary for the Socio-Political Learning of Situated Agroecologies in Chile
Peredo Parada, Santiago; Barrera Salas, Claudia
Agroecology has proven to be successful in responding to the demands and needs of a
collective due to the relevance of its approach and proposals, which are built collaboratively between
all the actors under a specific context that focuses on the actions developed. This is facilitated when
spaces of horizontal interaction are generated through dialogues between different perspectives
and experiences. In this perspective, agroecological training in higher education, i.e., university
level, requires structural changes that go beyond the incorporation of technical content. Based on a
critical documentary analysis of the records generated in the implementation of teaching innovation
projects, the learning itinerary in agroecology is presented, consisting of four certifications based
on transformational learning and supported by active methodologies. The potentialities, including
marketing potential, of the proposed learning itinerary relate to curricular design, the articulation of
the itinerary, the suitability of the learning methodologies used, the performance of the teachers, and
the participation of the students. It is concluded that the implementation of flexible itineraries allows
for addressing the transformation processes necessary for an agroecological transition in which we
see a convergence of students’ skills, the learning objectives, and the requirements of the various
actors with which they interact.

Bocanegra Barbecho, Lidia

Other conceptions and other ways of building in al-Andalus. Building techniques in al-Andalus have been the subject of research on numerous occasions. Two are the most prominently studied: ashlar from Umayyad period, and rammed earth. However, despite many mentions in the literature, there are few systematic works on them and, above all, there is much confusion regarding their descriptions and nomenclature, with few common approaches. On top of this, there is a scarcity of stratigraphic analysis linked to these building techniques. This problem exists in the case of the most important fortifications and monumental architecture, but it is even more serious when it comes to the study of more simple domestic or productive buildings, for which there is a total absence of documentation, frequently due to the low level of attention, and lack of characterization of their building techniques and materials. Nevertheless, we can observe a significant evolution in relation to forms of expression of power, and the expression of the cultural models of Islamic al-Andalus. These models differ not only from those of feudal Christian Europe, but also from the tradition of the Eastern Mediterranean, creating a unique identity in the Islamic medieval West, on both sides of the Strait of Gibraltar.

atención a la escritura de mujeres.; The publishing market of African literature in Spanish is inevitably linked to the recent history
of Equatorial Guinea, a Spanish colony until 1968. During the Spanish occupation, the publishing
market had to adjust to the requirements of the colonial project. After independence was
achieved, the publishing houses were not able to flourish due to the limitations of what Liniger-
Goumaz calls “the Nguemist regime”, which served as a bridge between Francisco Macías’s
dictatorship (1968-1979) and the current regime of Teodoro Obiang. Nowadays, the edition of
Afro-Hispanic literature is carried out mainly in publishing houses based in Spain, some of them
under the supervision of Equatorial-Guinean editors. These editorial houses are outside the scope
and dynamics of peninsular publishing. This is the case of a small publishing house known as
Editorial Mey (Barcelona), founded by Remei Sipi Mayo, that specializes in African literature in
Spanish and pays particular attention to literature written by women.
