However, this right often encounters obstacles when administrations refuse to provide citizens with environmental information under the pretext of professional secrecy, which they use as an excuse to monopolize decision-making in environmental matters. In addition, citizens may refrain from seeking environmental information due to a lack of awareness of these issues or the barriers that impede access to environmental information.
