Holmqvist, Bosse
In this article the author exposes in a synthetic way the fundamental contents and the main conclusions of his book “A new science? A critical reading of Edgar Morin's 'La Méthode' ". The book, published in Swedish, has as its axis the analysis of Morin's project of a "scienza nuova" based on a knowledge of knowledge, as he develops it in the first four volumes of "The Method", which were the ones that were had been published when the author wrote the doctoral thesis from which the book is the fruit. The author, from a contextualist approach, criticizes the ambivalence in which, in his opinion, Morin's approaches incur on the question of the relationship of science with the social contexts in which it occurs and Morin's tendency to incur in the objectivism. He relates these approaches to the mechanical determinism that Morin –unwisely– attributes to “sociologism” and the sociology of knowledge.

Se quiere mostrar que la clausura de la razón constituye en definitiva una sacralización de la razón, y que este desplazamiento de la problemática es interesante en particular cuando se trata de someter la ciencia a la cuestión ética.; Starting from an analysis of the critique that Morin makes of Cartesian science and the analysis of the "scienza nuova" that he proposes to succeed it, the concept of closed reason, central to Morin's "Method", and its explanation of the complexity paradigm. We want to show that the closure of reason ultimately constitutes a sacralization of reason, and that this displacement of the problem is particularly interesting when it comes to subjecting science to the ethical question.

El análisis desarrollado muestra las similitudes y diferencias paradigmáticas entre la racionalidad política liberal y la populista El pensamiento complejo y la antropología de la complejidad humana conceptualizadas por Morin permiten pensar una estrategia teórica y práctica para complejizar la democracia.; Edgar Morin's centennial is an opportunity to think about the academic and political future of complex thinking beyond the writing of the author of “The Method”. To this end, we propose to initiate a dialogue between complex thinking and political philosophy. Our objective is to problematize democracy from a controversial dialogue between the philosophy of complex thinking with liberal philosophy and populist philosophy. This problematization work allows us to conceptualize five controversies about democracy: paradigmatic controversies, historical-philosophical controversies, anthropological controversies, controversies about the truth and controversies about subjectivation and the social bond. Our analysis shows the paradigmatic similarities and differences between liberal and populist political rationality. Complex thinking and the anthropology of human complexity conceptualized by Morin allow us to think of a theoretical and practical strategy to make democracy more complex.

In this work, the author makes a comparison between the conception of science enunciated by classical physicists and that developed by Edgar Morin. He points out that the opponents with whom Morin argues are above all Galilei, Newton and Descartes. He expounds the reasons why the French thinker elaborates a new method, with which he operates the turning point from reductionism to complexity, transforms the concept of static object into that historical event, overcomes the subject-object dualism and proclaims the need for an inseparable link between them. Declares that the conception of complexity represents a real challenge to traditional philosophy.

In this work the author states that Edgar Morin highlights the revolutionary power of the concept of Complexity which, at an epistemological level, has favoured the emergence of a new Science. This science goes beyond the principles that emerged from the horizon of meaning outlined by classical science and proposes, as an alternative, a new method whose 'rules' make it possible to grasp the complexity of reality without mutilating it and to nourish knowledge instead of stifling it.
