abstract = {Desde el año 2018 venimos publicando el Observatorio de la Producción Científica de la Arquitectura Técnica e Ingeniería de Edificación. Esta publicación sintetiza y presenta los datos más significativos de la producción científica de esta profesión, realizando múltiples enfoques. A nivel temporal se hace un estudio histórico sobre su evolución a lo largo del tiempo y el estado actual.

En el informe, se expone el estudio en Universidades e investigadores, intentando ofrecer los datos más actuales, desglosados en las distintas áreas. La mayoría de la información está disponible de forma amplia y con variados análisis con múltiples desagregaciones en valores cuantitativos y cualitativos.

Este Observatorio utiliza diversas fuentes de información: Universidades, Colegios Profesionales y Consejo, Portales de investigación, Bibliotecas y Repositorios y datos aportados por los propios interesados.

Lo iniciamos con las opiniones de autoridades de reconocido prestigio que nos ayudan a entender distintos aspectos del Sector de la Construcción, Ingeniería y Arquitectura, de la investigación y de esta disciplina en la situación actual.

En el capítulo II, hacemos una revisión de la evolución y estado actual del sector de la construcción y de las Universidades desde distintas perspectivas para tener una visión global del mundo donde se desarrolla esta profesión.

En el capítulo III, nos planteamos los objetivos de este estudio, realizando un guion de preguntas que el lector puede usar de guía y a las que esperamos dar respuesta.

En el capítulo IV, revisamos los centros universitarios en donde se ha dado y se da Arquitectura Técnica o Ingeniería de Edificación y aquellos en donde desarrollan su trabajo AT/IE docentes o investigadores.

En el capítulo V, nos centramos en el estudio de las Universidades. Indicadores bibliométricos, altmétricos y sintéticos en donde se exponen múltiples variables: docentes, doctores, investigadores, producción científica registrada en las más importantes bases de datos científicas, estableciendo clasificaciones de las distintas Universidades. Un análisis longitudinal y transversal que nos hace ver el estado actual y la evolución de la AT/IE en la Universidad y su producción científica.

En el capítulo VI el análisis se focaliza en los investigadores, también con un estudio histórico y actual sobre la producción científica de ellos, reflejada en bases de datos internacionales, visibilizando los que ocupan los primeros puestos tanto en variables de producción como de impacto.

En el capítulo VII se hace un estudio individual de las Universidades con AT/IE y su evolución en los últimos siete años, estudiando docentes, investigadores, documentos de investigación y tesis doctorales y una comparativa con valores sintéticos medios.

Y, por último, en el capítulo VIII, realizamos una revisión de los datos obtenidos, los datos generales de las Universidades y las fortalezas y debilidades de esta disciplina.

Finalmente, se incluye un anexo con descripciones de conceptos relevantes y enlaces a la bibliografía utilizada.

Este año, y como novedades, hemos añadido un análisis más extenso de la base de datos ResearchGate, distintas variables repasando los docentes en activo en 2023 y un estudio preliminar de género de los docentes e investigadores AT/IE.

Las Universidades que imparten la titulación en el curso 2023-24 son 22, siendo su número estable desde el curso 2021-22. Aquellas que han tenido o tienen relación con esta disciplina ya sea por impartir la titulación o por tener docentes o investigadores AT/IE son 61 y el número de docentes investigadores AT/IE estudiados son 1.114. Los documentos científicos totales que llevamos registrados y analizados son cerca de 4.000.

Y presentamos 76 tablas y 113 gráficas, completando un trabajo muy extenso.

Todo con la idea de que cada lector, investigador, usuario o la sociedad en general pueda sacar conclusiones de esta profesión y romper mitos. La Arquitectura Técnica e Ingeniería de Edificación, está ya al nivel de cualquier otra carrera, demostrando su rápida evolución a estándares de investigación y competitividad.

Esta iniciativa va unida a otro proyecto que sirve de complemento necesario: RIARTE (https://www.riarte.es/) el Repositorio de Investigación de la Arquitectura Técnica de España, en donde se registra, cataloga y visibiliza la producción técnica de esta disciplina, además de la producción científica que emana de este Observatorio. Esto hace que toda la información recabada tenga una visibilización exponencial a nivel nacional e internacional, tanto en redes nacionales e internacionales de investigación, como en las búsquedas web, destacando y acentuando el trabajo de los investigadores. Representa en gran medida, el corpus documental de la AT/IE.},
abstract = {Since 2018 we have been publishing the Observatory of the Scientific Production of Technical Architecture and Building Engineering. This publication synthesizes and presents the most significant data of the scientific production of this profession, performing multiple approaches. At a temporal level, a historical study is made on its evolution over time and the current state.

In the report, the study is presented in Universities and researchers, trying to offer the most current data, broken down in the different areas. Most of the information is available in a wide range of analyses with multiple disaggregations in quantitative and qualitative values.

This Observatory uses various sources of information: Universities, Professional Associations and Councils, Research Portals, Libraries and Repositories and data provided by the interested parties themselves.

We begin with the opinions of renowned authorities that help us to understand different aspects of the Construction, Engineering and Architecture Sector, of research and of this discipline in the current situation.

In Chapter II, we review the evolution and current state of the construction sector and the Universities from different perspectives in order to have a global vision of the world where this profession is developed.
In Chapter III, we set out the objectives of this study, asking a series of questions that the reader can use as a guide and to which we hope to provide answers.

In Chapter IV, we review the university centers where Technical Architecture or Building Engineering has been and is taught and those where TA/IE teachers or researchers carry out their work.

In Chapter V, we focus on the study of universities. Bibliometric, altmetric and synthetic indicators where multiple variables are presented: teachers, doctors, researchers, scientific production registered in the most important scientific databases, establishing classifications of the different Universities. A longitudinal and transversal analysis that shows the current state and evolution of TA/IE in the University and its scientific production.

In chapter VI the analysis focuses on researchers, also with a historical and current study on their scientific production, reflected in international databases, making visible those who occupy the top positions in both production and impact variables.

Chapter VII presents an individual study of the universities with TA/IE and their evolution over the last seven years, studying teachers, researchers, research documents and doctoral theses and a comparison with average synthetic values.
Finally, an appendix is included with descriptions of relevant concepts and links to the bibliography used.

This year, and as new features, we have added a more extensive analysis of the ResearchGate database, different variables reviewing the active teachers in 2023 and a preliminary gender study of TA/IE teachers and researchers.

The Universities teaching the degree in the 2023-24 academic year are 22, their number being stable since the 2021-22 academic year. Those that have had or have a relationship with this discipline either by teaching the degree or by having TA/IE teachers or researchers are 61 and the number of TA/IE teachers and researchers studied is 1,114. The total number of scientific documents registered and analyzed is nearly 4,000.

And we present 76 tables and 113 graphs, completing a very extensive work.

All with the idea that every reader, researcher, user or society in general can draw conclusions about this profession and break myths. Technical Architecture and Building Engineering is already at the level of any other career, demonstrating its rapid evolution to standards of research and competitiveness.

This initiative is linked to another project that serves as a necessary complement: RIARTE (https://www.riarte.es/) the Research Repository of Technical Architecture in Spain, where the technical production of this discipline is registered, catalogued and made visible, in addition to the scientific production that emanates from this Observatory. This means that all the information collected has an exponential visibility at national and international level, both in national and international research networks, as well as in web searches, highlighting and emphasizing the work of researchers. It represents, to a great extent, the documentary corpus of the TA/IE.},
