abstract = {La investigación previa en torno a la juventud rural ha abordado predominantemente los condicionantes materiales de los pueblos para su emigración; sin embargo, la dimensión sociocultural ha pasado desapercibida, más aún si cabe en relación al ocio festivo de la población joven. Es por ello que el objetivo principal de este trabajo se ha centrado en contrastar el discurso y las representaciones que tienen las personas jóvenes en torno al ocio con las prácticas festivas que llevan a cabo en áreas rurales españolas. Creemos importante reconocer el poder de las representaciones socioculturales en los supuestos y valores que rodean la vida rural, pues recrean actitudes hacia el campo y sus gentes que pueden afectar al éxodo rural por parte de la juventud, así como a la consideración general de los pueblos como espacios inapropiados para su desarrollo vital. Es por lo que el presente trabajo cobra especial relevancia, con el objetivo de contribuir al conocimiento en el reflejo más justo y preciso de los contextos

abstract = {Previous research on rural youth has dealt predominantly with the material conditions of the villages for their emigration; however, the sociocultural dimension has gone unnoticed, even more so in relation to the festive leisure of the young population. That is why the main objective of this paper has focused on contrasting the discourse and representations that young people have about leisure with the festive practices they carry out in Spanish rural areas. We believe it is important to recognize the power of sociocultural representations in the assumptions and values surrounding rural life, since they recreate attitudes towards the countryside and its people that can affect the rural exodus of young people, as well as the general consideration of villages as inappropriate spaces for their vital development. This is why the present work takes on special relevance, with the aim of contributing to the knowledge in a fairer and more accurate reflection of rural contexts and their populations.},
