abstract = {El ensayo analiza la historia de la definición del concepto de paisaje y sus primeras herramientas de protección durante la primera mitad del siglo XX en Italia: esta es una fase significativa y crucial, durante la cual, en ausencia de un concepto orgánico de paisaje, su protección y puesta en valor se confía sobre todo a importantes iniciativas para promover las bellezas naturales y artísticas del territorio italiano, por el Touring Club y, posteriormente, por otras asociaciones en concierto con organismos estatales. Las campañas de sensibilización generalizadas tenían por un lado el propósito de “revelar Italia a los italianos”, fortalecer el espíritu patriótico del país y, por otro lado, formar opinión pública sobre los temas más urgentes de la salvaguardia del territorio: estas iniciativas tenían el mérito de desarrollar una nueva aproximación al tema del paisaje, ya no evaluado a la luz de una mera concepción estética, sino también desde una perspectiva económica, para ser protegido también en relación a los riesgos hidrogeológicos asociados a una modernización demasiado apresurada.},
abstract = {The research is aimed to analyze the history of the definition of the concept of landscape and its first protection instruments during the first half of the twentieth century in Italy: this is a significant and crucial phase, during which, in the absence of an organic concept of the landscape, its protection and enhancement is, above all, entrusted to important initiatives to promote the natural and artistic beauties of the Italian territory, organized by the Touring Club and, subsequently, by other associations in agreement with state bodies. The widespread awareness campaigns had on the one hand the purpose of “revealing Italy to the Italians”, strengthening the patriotic spirit of the country, and on the other hand of forming public opinion on the most urgent issues of safeguarding the territory: these initiatives had been responsible for developing a new approach to the theme of the landscape, no longer evaluated in the light of a mere aesthetic conception, but also from an economic perspective, to be protected also in relation to the hydrogeological risks associated with too hasty modernizations.},
