abstract = {El novelista mexicano Yuri Herrera ha conseguido configurar un
universo propio a través de una propuesta narrativa
fundamentalmente basada en una relación muy personal con el
lenguaje y en la subversión/cuestionamiento de estereotipos
preasignados sobre violencia, identidad, género y espacios
narrativos. Señales que precederán al fin del mundo (2009) es un
viaje circular, mítico y real, de una mujer, Makina, traductora de
lenguas y de realidades, que cruza la frontera entre dos espacios
que sin nombrarse remiten a México y Estados Unidos en busca de
su hermano. En ese viaje iniciático y terrible tendremos
oportunidad de ver cómo la reescritura de mitos prehispánicos y la
reapropiación de los mismos permiten al poderosísimo personaje
femenino subvertir todos los estereotipos esperables sobre una
mujer sola que emprende un viaje tan peligroso. Makina es una novíctima
que no sólo se empodera, resiste y sobrevive, sino que
además entrega un mensaje incontestable al llegar a su destino.},

subversion/questioning of pre-assigned stereotypes about
violence, identity, gender and narrative spaces. Signs preceding
the end of the world (2009) is a circular journey, mythical and real,
of a woman, Makina, a translator of languages and realities, who
crosses the border between two spaces that are not named but
Mexico and the United States in search of her brother. In this
initiatory and terrible journey we will have the opportunity to see
how the rewriting of pre-Hispanic myths and their reappropriation
allow the powerful female character to subvert all the expected
stereotypes about a single woman who undertakes such a
dangerous journey. Makina is a non-victim who not only
empowers, resists and survives, but also delivers an undeniable
message upon reaching her destination.},
