abstract = {A medias entre los hombres y Dios, las cofradías representan uno de esos poderes intermedios
en la sociedad del Antiguo Régimen. Son entes auto-regulados, cuyas reglas les otorgan un estatus
de oficialidad, pero a la vez responden a impulsos de la cultura popular. Por eso, los cargos directivos
de las cofradías y hermandades adquieren una autoridad moral que los convierte en agentes de
mediación hacia dentro en la búsqueda de la paz comunitaria y vecinal. Es una autoridad simbólica
con alta carga de representación social, que puede inscribirse en las prácticas de disciplinamiento
social nacidas desde abajo. Esa autoridad moral, en el contexto de corporaciones mutuales y festivas,
se analiza a través de las reglas de ciertas hermandades de Granada en la Edad Moderna.},
abstract = {Halfway between men and God, the brotherhoods represent one of those intermediate powers
in the society of the Old Regime. They are self-regulating entities, whose rules grant them official
status, but at the same time respond to popular culture impulses. For this reason, the directive positions
of the confraternities and brotherhoods acquire a moral authority that turns them into agents of
inward mediation in the search for community and neighborhood peace. It is a symbolic authority
with a high charge of social representation, which can be inscribed in the practices of social discipline
born from below. This moral authority, in the context of mutual and festive corporations, is analyzed
through the rules of certain brotherhoods of Granada in the Early Modern Age.},
