abstract = {Cusco es uno de los centros históricos más importantes de América Latina; después de la Conquista, las nuevas iglesias cristianas reemplazaron los templos de la religión anterior y la ciudad se hizo homogénea mediante el uso del adobe, material de construcción predominante de todos los edificios superpuestos a los palacios incas, aunque estos no desaparecieron. A lo largo del tiempo se pueden identificar cambios arquitectónicos y de la identidad cultural como consecuencia de destrucciones y reconstrucciones que han determinado el actual paisaje urbano. Cusco fue reconstruida después del sismo de 1650.
En el siglo XIX algunas transformaciones variaron la imagen del centro urbano, pero sin embargo los cambios más importantes se produjeron durante el siglo XX, antes y después del temblor de 1950. En tiempos recientes ocurre el fenómeno de variación de uso en los edificios del centro histórico, con nuevas funciones especializadas para fines turísticos.},
abstract = {Cusco is one of the most important historical centers in Latin America. After the Conquest, the new Christian churches replaced the temples of the previous religion and the city became homogeneous through the use of adobe, the predominant construction material of all the buildings superimposed on the Inca palaces; the latter, however, did not disappear. Over time, architectural and cultural identity changes can be identified as a consequence of the destruction and reconstruction that determined the current urban landscape. Cusco was rebuilt after the 1650 earthquake.
In the 19th century, some transformations changed the urban landscape, but nevertheless the most important changes occurred during the 20th century, before and after the earthquake of 1950. In recent times the use of the buildings in the historic center is changing, with new specialized functions for tourist purposes.},
