El arquitecto genovés entendió las implicaciones de actuar en un enclave estratégico y respondió con una propuesta que no se limitaba a la construcción de un museo, sino que también acometía una profunda metamorfosis de uno de los espacios más emblemáticos de la capital cántabra. El objetivo de esta comunicación es analizar el proyecto del Centro Botín en toda su dimensión urbana y paisajística. Empezando con el estudio del lugar antes de su intervención, pasando por las sucesivas modificaciones hasta llegar a la propuesta final, este trabajo ayudará a comprender la transformación de la bahía de Santander, así como las estrategias de proyecto y diálogo con el entorno de uno de los arquitectos más sensibles del panorama contemporáneo.},
abstract = {Renzo Piano used the Centro Botín project as an excuse to transform the Santander seafront. The Genoese architect understood the implications of working in a strategic site and responded with a proposal that was not limited to the construction of a museum, but also undertook a profound metamorphosis of one of the most emblematic spaces of the city. The objective of this communication is to analyze the Centro Botín project in all its urban and landscape dimensions. Starting with the study of the place before its intervention, going through the successive modifications until reaching the final proposal, this work will help to understand the transformation of the Bay of Santander, as well as the strategies of project and dialogue with the context of one of the most sensitive architects on the contemporary scene.},
