I argue that more can be learnt from such an analysis than the thesis that Huygens re-styled Galilean mechanics which is a communis opinio. I shall argue that the differences in their approach on free fall highlight a significantly different mathematical and methodological outlook.}, publisher = {Universidad de Granada}, keywords = {Huygens}, keywords = {Galileo}, keywords = {Caída libre}, keywords = {Mecánica}, keywords = {Filosofía natural del siglo XVII}, keywords = {Horologium Oscillatorium}, keywords = {Discorsi}, keywords = {Free fall}, keywords = {Mechanics}, keywords = {XVIIth century natural philosophy}, title = {Galileo and Huygens on free fall: Mathematical and methodological differences}, author = {Ducheyne, Steffen}, }
