abstract = {Basándonos en previas investigaciones, el objetivo principal de la presente
Tesis Doctoral es investigar el funcionamiento neuropsicológico y cerebral de mujeres
supervivientes. Para llevar a cabo este objetivo, la tesis consta de un total de nueve
capítulos. En el Capítulo 1 se introducen los conceptos de violencia de género,
estadísticas sobre prevalencia, clasificaciones teóricas, y secuelas relacionadas. El
Capítulo 2 expone el papel de la neuropsicología en el problema de violencia de
género en términos de secuelas neuropsicológicas, sintomatología posconmocional y
alteraciones cerebrales. En el Capítulo 3 se presenta la justificación y objetivos de la
Tesis. Del Capítulo 4 al 8, se exponen los estudios que componen la Tesis Doctoral,
incluyendo cuatro estudios empíricos y un estudio sobre el diseño y desarrollo de la
batería neuropsicológica.},
abstract = {Based on the previous literature, the main objective of the present Doctoral
Dissertation is to research neuropsychological and brain functioning in female
survivors of intimate partner violence. To reach this objective, the thesis comprises
nine chapters. In Chapter 1, the concepts of intimate partner violence, prevalence
statistics, theoretical classifications, and related sequelae will be introduced. Chapter 2
presents the role of neuropsychology in the study of intimate partner violence in terms
of neuropsychological impairment, postconcusive symptomology, and brain
alterations. In Chapter 3, the justification and objectives for the Dissertation will be
presented. Chapters 4 to 8 contain the studies that make up the Thesis, including four
empirical studies and one study covering the design and development of the
neuropsychological battery.},
