abstract = {En este artículo se analizan las leyendas que nos transmitieron los autores hispano-judíos acerca del origen de su Diáspora en la península Ibérica. Estos relatos, en un principio sólo tradiciones privativas de las grandes familias aristocráticas, terminaron por convertirse en tradiciones que afectaban al conjunto de la judería hispana: en ellas fundamentaron su seguridad y orgullo, así como los prejuicios que los sefardíes tuvieron hacia los judíos de otras procedencias. Algunas de estas leyendas fueron incorporadas a la historiografía española de los siglos XVI y XVII: historiadores y cronistas hicieron uso de ellas bien para ensalzar bien para rebatir la excelencia y glorioso pasado de ciudades, regiones y pueblos de la Monarquía Hispánica.},
abstract = {This paper analyses Jewish legends dealing with the origins of their settlement in the Iberian Peninsula. These stories, originally aristocratic traditions, turned into general ones: they contributed to the self-confidence and pride of the whole Spanish Jewry and gave reasons for the Sephardic predujices towards other Jews. Some of these legends are found in the Spanish historiography of the 16th and 17th centuries: historians and chroniclers made use of them in order to prove the excellence (or lack of excellence) of cities, regions and peoples of the Hispanic Monarchy.},
