modalities such as the micro-story or the aphorism. The book is made up of
small travel notes from 17 Latin American countries. Its fragmentary structure eliminates any possibility of global interpretation of the narrative experience. However, although the text affirms the impossibility of establishing a
single concept of national identity, it is possible to establish the author's literary position (according Meizoz) on the basis of his comments on other
