The trilepton invariant-mass spectrum is constructed from events with three or more leptons, targeting chargino decays that include an electron or muon and a leptonically decaying Z boson. The analyzed dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data produced by the Large Hadron Collider at a center-of-mass energy of root s = 13 TeV and collected by the ATLAS experiment between 2015 and 2018. The data are found to be consistent with predictions from the Standard Model. The results are interpreted as limits at 95% confidence level on model-independent cross sections for processes beyond the Standard Model. Limits are also set on the production of charginos and neutralinos for a minimal supersymmetric Standard Model with an approximate B - L symmetry. Charginos and neutralinos with masses between 100 and 1100 GeV are excluded depending on the assumed decay branching fractions into a lepton (electron, muon, or tau lepton) plus a boson (W, Z, or Higgs).}, organization = {CERN}, organization = {ANPCyT}, organization = {YerPhI, Armenia}, organization = {Australian Research Council}, organization = {BMWFW}, organization = {Austrian Science Fund (FWF)}, organization = {Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS)}, organization = {SSTC, Belarus}, organization = {Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Cientifico e Tecnologico (CNPQ)}, organization = {Fundacao de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado de Sao Paulo (FAPESP)}, organization = {Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC)}, organization = {National Research Centre (NRC)}, organization = {Canada Foundation for Innovation}, organization = {ANID, Chile}, organization = {Chinese Academy of Sciences}, organization = {MOST}, organization = {National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC)}, organization = {Departamento Administrativo de Ciencia, Tecnologia e Innovacion Colciencias}, organization = {Ministry of Education, Youth & Sports - Czech Republic}, organization = {MPO CR}, organization = {Czech Republic Government}, organization = {DNRF}, organization = {Danish Natural Science Research Council}, organization = {Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS)}, organization = {CEA-DRF/IRFU, France}, organization = {SRNSFG,Georgia}, organization = {Federal Ministry of Education & Research (BMBF)}, organization = {HGF}, organization = {Max Planck Society}, organization = {Greek Ministry of Development-GSRT}, organization = {RGC and Hong Kong SAR, China}, organization = {ISF and Benoziyo Center}, organization = {Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN)}, organization = {Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan (MEXT) Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan (MEXT)}, organization = {Japan Society for the Promotion of Science}, organization = {CNRST, Morocco}, organization = {Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO)}, organization = {Netherlands Government}, organization = {RCN, Norway}, organization = {Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Poland}, organization = {NCN, Poland}, organization = {Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology}, organization = {European Commission}, organization = {MNE/IFA, Romania}, organization = {JINR}, organization = {MES of Russia}, organization = {NRC KI, Russian Federation}, organization = {Ministry of Education, Science & Technological Development, Serbia}, organization = {MSSR, Slovakia}, organization = {Slovenian Research Agency - Slovenia}, organization = {MIZS, Slovenia}, organization = {DST/NRF, South Africa}, organization = {Spanish Government}, organization = {SRC and Wallenberg Foundation, Sweden}, organization = {SERI, Switzerland}, organization = {SNSF and Cantons of Bern and Geneva, Switzerland}, organization = {Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan}, organization = {Ministry of Energy & Natural Resources - Turkey}, organization = {UK Research & Innovation (UKRI)}, organization = {Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC)}, organization = {United States Department of Energy (DOE)}, organization = {National Science Foundation (NSF)}, organization = {BCKDF,Canada}, organization = {CANARIE, Compute Canada}, organization = {CRC, Canada}, organization = {IVADO, Canada}, organization = {Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission}, organization = {COST, ERC, ERDF, Horizon 2020 and Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions, European Union}, organization = {French National Research Agency (ANR)}, organization = {DFG and AvH Foundation, Germany}, organization = {Herakleitos, Thales and Aristeia programs - EU-ESF}, organization = {Greek NSRF, Greece}, organization = {BSF-NSF and GIF, Israel}, organization = {La Caixa Foundation}, organization = {CERCA Programme Generalitat de Catalunya and PROMETEO}, organization = {GenT Programmes Generalitat Valenciana, Spain}, organization = {Goran Gustafssons Stiftelse, Sweden}, organization = {Royal Society and Leverhulme Trust, United Kingdom}, organization = {CERN, the ATLAS Tier-1 facilities at TRIUMF (Canada)}, organization = {NDGF (Denmark, Norway, Sweden)}, organization = {CC-IN2P3 (France)}, organization = {KIT/GridKA (Germany)}, organization = {INFNCNAF (Italy)}, organization = {Netherlands Government}, organization = {PIC (Spain)}, organization = {ASGC (Taiwan)}, organization = {RAL (United Kingdom)}, organization = {BNL USA}, publisher = {American Physical Society}, title = {Search for trilepton resonances from chargino and neutralino pair production in root s=13 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector}, doi = {10.1103/PhysRevD.103.112003}, author = {Aad, G. and Aguilar Saavedra, Juan Antonio and Atlas Collaboration}, }
