abstract = {Es una realidad el aumento del interés de la población occidental por las terapias alternativas o complementarias y el rechazo hacia las mismas por parte de la medicina oficial biomédica. El análisis social demuestra cómo las personas y los grupos toman decisiones acerca de su salud, y si el sistema oficial no se lo facilita, no por ello desisten. Este estudio cualitativo analiza los patrones de uso de los usuarios españoles que acuden a las terapias complementarias y aporta datos sobre su proceso de búsqueda de salud. Esta investigación forma parte de una tesis doctoral que aborda la articulación y grado de convivencia de los modelos de salud oriental y occidental en España y Japón desde todos los ángulos.},
abstract = {The increasing interest of the population in the complementary or alternative therapies is a demonstrated fact together with the rejection of the official biomedical system. The social analysis demonstrates how individuals and groups make decisions about their own health, and they not give up in spite of the official system. This qualitative study analyses patterns of the users of complementary or alternative therapies and provides data on their search process for health. This investigation is a part of a doctoral thesis about the articulation and degree of coexistence of eastern and western health models in Spain and Japan from all angles.},
