abstract = {This study examines the cultural meaning of the Andes territory through the interpretation of a set of selected liturgical inversions that take place in Christmas celebrations among a group of Quechua communities of the southern Peruvian Andes.  The sacred conception that the indigenous settlers imprinted on the territory with their ritual practices over the year enables a glimpse of the hybrid nature of Andean tradition.},
