abstract = {Esta texto tiene su origen en el análisis de la experiencia sobre la vida mediterránea a través de
los espacios intersticiales y de tránsito que sirven de mediación en la construcción
arquitectónica entre el espacio abierto y el cerrado, entre el interior y el exterior, entre lo
cubierto y lo descubierto. Esta condición intermedia de los lugares vendrá mediatizada por los
parámetros atmosféricos de sombra y aire y su contribución sensorial a la percepción de los
espacios y sus cualidades. Son espacios sin un uso concreto, pero que se repiten como un
invariante en la arquitectura tradicional mediterránea, independientemente del uso de la
arquitectura, de la escala, del programa, del estilo y de la época de la construcción. Son
espacios acotados, más o menos porosos, con diferentes materiales y sistemas constructivos,
que articulan la relación entre interior y exterior, estableciendo gradientes de materia y luz en
esa transición.},

interstitial spaces and transit serving mediation in the architectural construction between the
closed and open space, between inside and outside, between the covered and the discovered.
This intermediate state of the places will be mediated by the atmospheric parameters of shade
and air and its sensory contribution to the perception of spaces and their qualities. They are
spaces with a specific use, but which are repeated as an invariant in the Mediterranean
traditional architecture, regardless of the use of architecture, scale, program, style and the time
