abstract = {El concepto de higiene problematiza las esferas de lo público y lo privado en tanto duelo por la supervivencia y la propiedad cuya carencia reaviva la amenaza del contagio, la frontera entre el yo y el otro. 
Los hábitos higiénicos han evolucionado distintamente atendiendo a condiciones climatológicas, socioeconómicas y culturales. Las prácticas artísticas en tanto cuestionamiento simbólico de la realidad han visibilizado dichos hábitos especialmente desde la crisis del sida durante la década de 1980. La intervención pública de los hogares de colectivos “contaminantes” expone así cuestiones micropolíticas en torno al deseo, la muerte o la familia. 
Nos preguntamos cómo los artistas abordan las tensiones entre domesticidad e higiene –a partir de la categoría estética de lo abyecto– desde dicho periodo hasta nuestros días, coincidiendo con la expansión del mundo globalizado que habitamos donde la sola noción de “contacto” es su ambivalente razón de ser.},
abstract = {The concept of hygiene makes an issue of both spheres, public and private, as a struggling for survival and propriety of the individual. When overflowed it points to the threat of the contagious, remarking the boundaries of the one and the other. 
Hygienic habits have evolved differently regarding to climatological, socio-economical and cultural circumstances. Art practicies, as a symbolic questioning of reality, have lighted up those habits especially since the AIDS crisis during the 1980s decade. The intervention of the private space by the public (the State) in certain ‘polluting’ collectives’ homes exposes micropolitics questions about desire, death or familiarity. 
We wonder how artists deal with those tensions between domesticity and hygiene, from the aesthetic category of abjection, and since this epoch to nowadays, coinciding with the expansion of the globalized world where this concept is relevant because the sole problem of ‘contact’ is what it means been global.},
