abstract = {El interés por la narrativa policíaca en México ha crecido simultáneamente a los
índices de violencia, en las últimas décadas. Sin embargo, a pesar de que la violencia de género
aumenta, ni el tratamiento hacia el cuerpo femenino de las víctimas ni el papel de las mujeres
como elementos estructurales de este género literario han registrado grandes
transformaciones. En este artículo analizamos Otra máscara de Esperanza, de Adriana
González Mateos (2015) para ilustrar cómo se reinterpreta la novela policíaca en relación con
las identidades de género de sus protagonistas. Se responden, así a dos interrogantes: ¿qué
descubre el/la lectora en relación con la muerte de Esperanza López Mateos, más allá de
quién es el culpable? y ¿de qué manera el cuerpo del delito trastorna tanto al género literario
como a las nociones culturales del género como categoría relacional?},
abstract = {In recent decades, the interest in crime fiction in Mexico has grown
simultaneously with the rates of violence. However, despite the fact that gender violence has
persistently increased, the treatment of the female body of the victims or the role of women
as structural elements of this genre have not undergone major changes. In this paper, we
analyze Adriana González Mateos' Otra máscara de Esperanza (2015), in order to illustrate
how this female author reinterprets the detective fiction genre. We answer, mainly, two
questions: What does the reader discover in relation to the death of Esperanza López Mateos,
regardless of who is to blame? And how does the body of crime disrupt both the literary
genre and the cultural notions of gender as a relational category?},
