abstract = {La tradición y modernidad que caracteriza el
paso de la Edad Media a la Edad Moderna en
nuestro país, tendrá su reflejo en los viajes de
peregrinación a Tierra Santa. Durante el siglo
xvi, los viajeros cristianos que llegaban en peregrinación hasta Jerusalén realizaban su periplo con un interés fundamentalmente religioso
y devocional. Pero éste no era el único, ya que
se le unían otros intereses como la búsqueda
de aventuras, del conocimiento y de negocios.
Durante el viaje de ida, el peregrino, lleno de
emoción y espiritualidad, visitaba santuarios
y reliquias para obtener las indulgencias necesarias para el buen morir y lograr la vida
eterna. Sin embargo, durante el viaje de vuelta, ya convertido en viajero, llevaba a cabo los
otros objetivos previstos convirtiéndose en
una experiencia que después tendría su reflejo
en su entorno y en el patrimonio. En este trabajo analizaremos la estancia del Marqués de Tarifa en Jerusalén y su viaje de vuelta a Sevilla, pues su experiencia durante estos tramos
del viaje quedará plasmada para siempre en el
paisaje cultural de la ciudad de Sevilla.},
abstract = {Tradition and modernity that characterizes the
transition from the Middle Ages to the Modern
Age in Spain, will be reflected in the pilgrimage trips to the Holy Land. During the sixteenth century, Christians travelers who came
on pilgrimage to Jerusalem did their tour with
a fundamentally religious and devotional interest. But he was not alone, as he joined other
interests as the search of adventure, knowledge and business. During the journey, the
