abstract = {El presente trabajo busca comprender el proyecto migratorio de mujeres inmigrantes de nacionalidad
brasileña, residentes en la ciudad española de A Coruña. El objetivo principal es analizar y discutir las
identidades otorgadas a estas mujeres a lo largo de este proceso y, cómo eso afecta aspectos prácticos de su
vida. La investigación realizada a partir de una metodología cualitativa, conlleva observación participante,
dieciocho entrevistas semiestructuradas realizadas en profundidad, además de una minuciosa revisión
bibliográfica y análisis documental. Los resultados obtenidos evidencian que una serie de imaginarios y
representaciones coloniales, patriarcales y económicas construyen el prejuicio del autóctono y el temor de
estas inmigrantes; crean un personaje estigmatizado del cual las mujeres migrantes brasileñas intentan
disociarse.},
abstract = {The present paper aims to understand the migratory project of immigrant women of Brazilian nationality,
residents of the Spanish city of A Coruña. The main objective is to analyze and discuss the identities given
to these women throughout this process, and how that affects practical aspects of their lives. The data
collection tool used for the conduction of my qualitative research is participant observation. It involves
eighteen semi-structured in-depth interviews as well as an extensive bibliographic review and documentary
analysis. The results of this study show that a range of colonial, patriarchal and economic imaginaries and
representations fuel the prejudice of the autochthonous population and the fear of those immigrants.
Besides, all these aspects contribute to the creation of a stigmatized representation of the female Brazilian
migrant population from which they aim to disassociate themselves.},
