abstract = {El pintor americano Edward Hopper, desde temprana edad mostró interés por la arquitectura,
un tema recurrente en sus bocetos y pinturas. Edificios desprovistos de detalle buscando una
intencionada teatralidad, o construcciones reflejadas con obsesiva minuciosidad. Dibujos que
evocan el proceso proyectual, pero trazando un camino hacia lo pictórico, revelando la estrecha
vinculación con la arquitectura.
El aprendizaje arquitectónico adquirido a través de estos cuadros le permitió diseñar su casaestudio
en South Truro, que acabaría por convertirse en un crisol de los lugares habitados por
el artista y de las casas de sus pinturas. Hopper proyectó una construcción realizando una
reinterpretación tipológica de la Cape Cod House, construyó un laboratorio que se convertiría
en fuente de nuevas experiencias y que, en el transcurso de los años, materializaría en su obra
artística en un proceso de feedback, desde la experiencia personal e íntima del pintor y en
continuidad con la historia.},
abstract = {The American painter Edward Hopper, from an early age showed interest in architecture, a
recurring theme in his sketches and pictures. Buildings devoid of detail looking for an intentional
theatricality, or constructions reflected with obsessive thoroughness. Drawings that evoke the
design process, but tracing a path towards the pictorial, revealing the close link with the
architecture.
The architectural learning acquired through these paintings allowed him to design his studio
house in South Truro, which would eventually become a melting pot of the places inhabited by
the artist and the houses of his pictures. Hopper projected a construction making a typological
reinterpretation of the Cape Cod House, built a laboratory that would become a source of new
experiences and that, over the years, would materialize in his artistic work in a feedback
process, from the personal and intimate experience of the painter and in continuity with history.},
