Aim: The objective of the study was to identify the adherence to the 24-hour movement recommendations, both during weekdays and and during weekends. Methods: Eighty-five adolescents (45.9% boys, M = 12.97 ± 0.52), aged between 12 and 14 years, carried and accelerometer to measure PA levels and filled out a questionnaire about screen time and sleep duration for both weekdays and weekend days. Results & discussion: Most adolescents failed to meet the overall 24-hour movement guidelines, in particular PA and screen time recommendations. In relation to the type of day, adolescents reported a lower compliance with the movement recommendations during the weekend days. Conclusions: Developing multicomponent school-based interventions that focus on promoting 24-hour movement guidelines seems necessary. Special attention should be paid to weekend days.}, abstract = {Resumen: Introducción: En España no existen estudios que hayan analizado de manera conjunta el cumplimiento de las tres recomendaciones de movimiento [i.e., actividad física (AF), tiempo de pantalla y duración de sueño], estableciendo diferencias en función del tipo de jornada. Objetivo: El objetivo del estudio fue identificar el grado de cumplimiento de las recomendaciones de movimiento tanto entre semana como el fin de semana. Métodos: Ochenta y cinco adolescentes (45.9% chicos; M = 12.97 ± 0.52), con edades comprendidas entre 12 y 14 años, llevaron un acelerómetro GT3X para cuantificar los niveles de AF y cumplimentaron un cuestionario sobre el tiempo de pantalla y la duración del sueño tanto entre semana como el fin de semana. Resultados y discusión: Entre los resultados encontrados destaca el bajo cumplimiento conjunto de las recomendaciones de movimiento, especialmente las relativas al tiempo de pantalla y a la práctica de AF. En relación al tipo de jornada, los adolescentes reportaron un menor cumplimiento de las recomendaciones de movimiento durante el fin de semana. Conclusiones: Por ello, resulta conveniente el desarrollo de intervenciones escolares multicomponente, basadas en la promoción de las diferentes recomendaciones de movimiento, que presten un especial énfasis en el fin de semana.}, publisher = {Fernández Revelles, Andrés B.}, keywords = {actividad física}, keywords = {duración de sueño}, keywords = {tiempo de pantalla}, keywords = {adolescentes}, keywords = {tipo de jornada}, keywords = {physical activity}, keywords = {sleep duration}, keywords = {screen time}, keywords = {adolescents}, keywords = {type of day}, keywords = {Atividade física}, keywords = {duração do sono}, keywords = {tempo de tela}, keywords = {adolescentes}, keywords = {tipo de dia}, title = {Variability in the compliance with 24-hour movement guidelines between week and weekend days in adolescents of the city of Huesca}, author = {Sevil, Javier and Abós, Ángel and Sanz-Remacha, María and Estrada, Sergio and Corral, Ana}, }
