abstract = {Debido al carácter colectivo de los sepulcros, la escasa espectacularidad de los ajuares y la dificultad para atribuir éstos a individuos concretos, las sociedades calcolíticas del sur de la Península Ibérica tienden a ser consideradas como igualitarias. Determinados indicios, sin embargo, sugieren que esta imagen responde al uso del ritual en el enmascaramiento de la desigualdad y a la lenta incorporación en la esfera ideológica de los cambios sociales acontecidos. Según el análisis de diversos contextos funerarios calcolíticos del este de Andalucía se puede señalar que el proceso de exhibición de las diferencias vio la combinación creciente de determinadas estrategias: la movilización diferencial de recursos en el funeral, la monumentalización del contenedor y el aumento de la visibilidad de éste y de su papel en el control del territorio (con visibilidad hacia y desde él), la reiteración cíclica de ceremonias con amortización de recursos en las tumbas y en torno a ellas y la representación de los ancestros en imágenes.},
abstract = {Due to the collective nature of the tombs, the scarce striking features of grave goods and the difficulty to attribute these to specific individuals, the Chalcolithic societies of Southern Iberia tend to be considered as egalitarian. Certain clues, however, suggest that this image is related to the use of ritual in the concealment of inequality and to the slow incorporation into the ideological sphere of the social changes that had taken place. We analyze several Chalcolithic funerary contexts of eastern Andalusia that suggest increasing exhibition of social differences throughout certain strategies: the differential mobilization of resources during the funeral, the conversion of funerary containers in monuments and the increase of their visibility and their role in territorial control (with visibility towards and from them), the cyclical withdrawal of ceremonies with deposition of resources in tombs and around them and the ancestors figurative representations.},
