abstract = {La influencia de Bécquer en América Latina fue notoria durante los últi- mos treinta años del siglo XIX, tanto en poetas como en narradores. Den- tro del Perú, los autores en los que mejor se pudo notar esa huella fueron Ricardo Palma y Manuel González Prada, los dos mejores poetas de su ge- neración. De González Prada conservamos una famosa Conferencia en el Ateneo de Lima, en 1886, donde destaca la genialidad del sevillano frente a la mediocridad de los autores peruanos que lo han imitado servilmente. Además, la influencia de Bécquer en González Prada aflora en muchos de sus versos y procedimientos estilísticos. Prada, gran versificador, intro- ductor de ritmos hasta entonces no usados en la lírica hispánica, supo asimilar el ritmo peculiar del sevillano, y reflejar en muchos de sus temas y tópicos, la herencia alemana que gravitaba en los versos de Bécquer, y aspectos en boga por aquellas fechas como la necesidad y supervivencia de la poesía, el platonismo que privilegia al alma frente al cuerpo, símbo- los de elevación como el volador corcel, las nubes, así como las preguntas fundamentales sobre el sentido de la existencia.},
abstract = {The influence of Bécquer in Latin America has been well-known dur- ing last thirty years of the 19th century, as much in poets as in narrators. Within Peru, the authors whose works can show footprints of Bécquer are Ricardo Palma and Manuel González Prada, who were considered the best poets of their generation. In Gonzalez Prada's conference in "El Ateneo de Lima" in 1886, he emphasizes the genius of the Sevillian as opposed to the mediocrity of the Peruvian authors who have imitated him. In addition, the influence of Bécquer in González Prada arises in many of his verses and stylistic procedures. Prada, the great "maker of verses", introduced new kinds of verses not seen in Hispanic Poetry. He knew of to assimilate the peculiar style of the Sevillian, and to reflect it in many of its subjects and topics. The German inheritance that influenced Bécquer's verses was the necessity and survival of poetry, the platonism that favors the soul against the body, the fundamental questions over existence.},
