abstract = {En tanto historia previa, los objetos son prototipos, ur-fenómenos que pueden ser reconocidos como precursores del presente, no importa cuan distantes o extraños parezcan. Benjamín afirma que si la historia
previa de un objeto revela su posibilidad (incluido su potencial utópico), su historia posterior es aquella en la que se muestra lo que ha devenido, en tanto objeto de la historia natural. Ambas son legibles en la «estructura monádica» del objeto histórico «arrancado» del continuum de la historia. En las huellas dejadas por la historia posterior del objeto, las condiciones de su decadencia y la forma de su transmisión cultural, las imágenes utópicas de los objetos pasados pueden ser leídas en el presente como verdad.
Es la potente confrontación de la historia previa y la historia posterior del objeto aquello que lo vuelve «actual» en el sentido político como presencia de espíritu y así la historia culmina no en el progreso sino en la «actualización».},

after-history is that which, as an object of natural history, it has in fact become. In the traces left by the object’s after-history, the conditions of its decay and the manner of its cultural transmissions, the utopian images of past objects can be read in the present as truth.
