abstract = {Este estudio quiere mostrar la enorme importancia que adquiere la configuración espacial de los nuevos procesos urbanos, relacionados con la creación de límites en el territorio. Estos límites condicionan e influyen directamente en la evolución y desarrollo de las ciudades. 
Hoy en día, es aceptado que los “espacios de vida  de los ciudadanos” poseen dominios de acción que superan habitualmente las delimitaciones heredadas.   
Los nuevos límites que constituyen la “ciudad real” en que vivimos son otros, y por eso, debemos comprender de una manera más precisa cual es la organización del espacio y la forma de intervenir en él para mejorarlo. Establecer su definición y delimitación es más difícil, ya que depende de las variables y enfoques que se le asignen. Existe, sin embargo, una necesidad de entender los procesos urbanos indisolublemente ligados a los límites y los criterios elegidos.
El crecimiento de las ciudades sobre el territorio no ha conseguido todavía hacer desaparecer las viejas divisiones sociales del espacio, sino que más bien ha transformado su carácter y expresión. Aún siguen existiendo límites en el territorio, aunque sean más difíciles de verificar al ser más variables y responder a sistemas de relaciones más complejos. 
Ahora el dominio se ha transformado en áreas de influencia en cuanto a posición y capacidad de relación; y ya no es la ciudad, como ente cerrado, la que ejerce ese mando reconocible, sino diversos elementos urbanos  independientes que irradian su influencia en una superposición de “campos urbanos” inter-relacionados.},
abstract = {This study wants to show the enormous importance that the space configuration of the new urban processes acquires, related to the creation of limits in the territory. These limits directly condition and influence on the evolution and development of cities.   
Nowadays, it is accepted that the “citizens’ spaces of life” have action dominions that usually surpass the inherited boundaries.     
The new limits that constitute the “real city” in which we live are different, and for that reason, we must understand more precisely the organization of the space and the way to take part in it to improve it. To establish its definition and boundary is more difficult, since it depends on the variables and approaches that are assigned to it. It exists, nevertheless, a necessitytounderstandtheurbanprocessesveryindissolublyrelatedtothelimits and the chosen criteria.  
The growth of the cities on the territory has still not been able to make disappear the old social divisions of the space, but that rather it has transformed its character and expression. Still they continue existing limits in the territory, although they are more difficult to verify due to they are more variable and they respond to more complex systems of relations.   
Now the dominion has transformed into areas of influence as far as position and capacity of relation; and it is no longer the city, as a closed being, who exerts that recognizable control, but diverse independent urban elements that radiate their influence in a superposition of “interrelated urban fields”.  
We went back to the first half of XIX century, for being the territorial division that still persists, in spite of the enormous changes happened in our society and our culture. Their criteria of formation were the population, the area, the topography, the respect to the historical persistence and the Capital status. Some of the present criteria nevertheless are centered in the legal statute, the morphologic definitions, the functional spaces, the economic structure or the hierarchy of the services. 
It is required an urgent adaptation of the instruments that order the territory and that those instruments consider these changes and imbalances.},
